Terry’s areas of clinical focus include women’s mental health and women’s reproductive mental health (depression and anxiety during pregnancy and the postpartum period, traumatic birth experience, perinatal loss, and infertility). In addition, she has experience and a special interest in helping adults with anxiety (Generalized Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic, Social Anxiety, and Specific Phobias), depression, insomnia, life transitions, past trauma, and new onset and chronic illness. Terry also has specialized training and experience in loss and grief counseling and is a graduate of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute through the International OCD Foundation.

 

Terry is collaborative in her work and she integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches into her practice: supportive psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness-based therapy, trauma resiliency model (TRM) and reflective parenting.

 

Terry believes in the importance of professional development and continues to cultivate her clinical skills and knowledge. She regularly attends courses, workshops, and conferences.  She also believes in the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and enjoys collaborative relationships with other mental health and healthcare professionals.

Terry earned her Master of Arts at Phillips Graduate Institute and her Bachelor of Arts with honors in Psychology and Social Relations from Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles.
